Join fiber artists Shanna Robinson and Katie Vota for a hands-on workshop to learn how to dye wool, cotton, and silk from wildcrafted plants, work with alum mordant, and safely handle natural dyes. Each participant will take home swatch samples. You will also participate in an indigo vat dye, so bring along natural-fiber clothing to dye blue, including old blue jeans that need sprucing up, or clothes you are interested in altering the color of. Preregistration required by Thursday, August 4th. $20. Please bring rubber gloves, a face mask, an apron, scissors, and clothes to dye in the indigo.
