Local Radio & Local Skills

ISLAND's Skill Swap attracted more than just seed-starters and contra dancers; Gary Howe, photographer and film aficionado, arrived with audio recording gear in tow. Gary was recording a story for one of our favorite local radio programs Radio Anyway. That story aired this past weekend on WNMC and is here:

broadband: http://www.radioanyway.org/m3u/2008/show118_bb.m3u
dial-up: http://www.radioanyway.org/archives/2008/show118_56k.mp3

The story about the Skill Swap (with some pretty intense audio from the chicken processing class -- beware!) is the first of a few great pieces. Continue on to hear about a local college grad going to work for the Democratic 2008 campaign, a Poetry Smackdown with
Teresa Scollon (a poet and writer-in-residence at the Interlochen Arts Academy) and a tribute to spring, Doggy Dialogue. Worth a listen!

Radio Anyway is a great station. I just finished listening to the link you provided. I now have the website saved and will be able to listen to it often while I am on my computer.
