Whitefish Cakes

We're having a party tomorrow, and thought ourselves clever when we figured out that local smoked whitefish would make an excellent substitute for non-local crab in crab cakes. Got home, did a quick internet search for "smoked whitefish cakes" and got this link:

to a local paper, a column written by a friend of ISLAND, about being a locavore, quoting Sandor Katz (who we helped host this year) and Barbara Kingsolver, and with a wonderful recipe for smoked whitefish cakes. What are the odds of that?

Anyway, we're substituting leeks for the scallions and serving ours with a rosemary cream sauce instead of salsa. Thanks for the recipe Nancy!
