Living with worms made easy. How you can have and benefit from worms that make use of organic residuals. Vermicomposting is a zero waste initiative.

Turning a Heel: the Secret to Handknit Socks with Michelle Ferrarese
Calling all basic and fancy knitters! Learn how to keep your toes cozy in elegant (or goofy) handmade socks. Master simple heel-turning, the secret of well made socks. Practice heels, toes, knitting in the round, and creating your own original patterns. Take home instructions and at least one finished sock.

Making Kombucha Tea with Pepper Bromelmeier and Growing Wheatgrass, Sprouts and Greens Indoors with Paul Murray
Learn how to make the fermented tea, Kombucha, and the health benefits derived from drinking it.

In this workshop you will learn how to grow your own organic wheatgrass, sprouts, and greens at home, for pennies per serving. You will learn a variety of growing techniques, as well as sources of seeds, supplies, and literature. You will also learn how to harvest and prepare your “crops.” Handout and samples will be included.

Roast Your Own – Coffee Roasting at Home with Chris and Jody Treter
Are you a coffee lover? Learn how to roast your own beans on the stove or over an open fire. This workshop will also include basic techniques of blending and cupping. Attendees will receive 1 lb of green (raw) beans.

Thirty Minute Mozzarella and Secrets of Easy Cheese with Amanda Kik
Learn to make your own cheese in just 30 minutes in this simple, hands-on workshop. We will use fresh local milk to craft mozzarella that is ready to eat by the end of the day.

Making Hard Cider with Dan Young
We will discuss Hard Cider Making from apple to glass. The workshop will be tailored to the experience of the participants. Attendees are encouraged to bring along any cider they have made in the past.
